Water Ranger
The current Water Ranger, John Warneford, was appointed in March 2005 to this
full time post following on from his predecessor Duncan.
John is employed directly by the Milford Haven Port Authority and part-funded
by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority. His job purpose is stated
simply as:
‘To support the Assistant Harbourmaster in the management of recreational craft
moorings and the implementation of the Milford Haven Waterway Recreation Plan.’
His craft is instantly recognisable on the water with ‘Water Ranger Patrol’ in
white lettering on the red tubes of the 5.45m. Ribcraft RIB, and he flies a blue
flag from the A-frame with ‘Cleddau Patrol’ also in white.
John can be contacted through Milford Haven Port Control (01646 696137) when
on patrol, and can be approached for advice, information or assistance both on
and off the water.
